Really solid discussi on on where power actually sits now in media. The shift from institutional leverage to individual/platform leverage you guys mapped out makes alot of sense - especially the point about YouTube fundamentally changing the game by eliminating traditional gatekeepers. I've seen this play out in the finance content space where solo creators with strong analytical chops can build bigger audiences than established publications, largely because the platform rewards consistent output and direct audience relationships over editorial prestige. The sovereignity framing around this is interesting too. Legacy media spent decades building leverage through distribution control, but that capital got devalued almost overnight once platforms made distribution basically free and algorithmic.
